Highest Safety Standards
From a safety perspective, we take guidance from The American Herbal Products Association's Botanical Safety Handbook. The AHPA organization is a leader in botanical research and has the most current studies around contraindications and safety considerations for all herbs that we use. We consider every update and always apply it to our formulations.
Effective Pregnancy Formulas
We opted to lower the alcohol content in our pregnancy formulas to more widely appeal to pregnant women and even further ensure the safety of our products. We developed an innovative new way to deliver on efficacy, improve taste and reduce alcohol below 10%. In this process, we developed a truly innovative new way to deliver efficacy, improve taste, and reduce alcohol to a level akin to eating a ripe banana (<10%).
As we recognize that more and more people are taking multiple tinctures during pregnancy, we reduced the alcohol content out of an abundance of caution to keep the cumulative intake at the safest recommended level.
When reducing alcohol content, we needed a substitute to maintain shelf stability. Apple cider vinegar is naturally acidic and supports a healthy microbial balance, which makes it a natural and healthy alternative to alcohol. In addition to its stabilizing effects, ACV offers many other health benefits, ranging from its blood sugar balancing effects to digestive soothing qualities.
As the alcohol in tinctures tends to have a bit of a bite, ACV creates a new taste profile that has been a big improvement for those sensitive pregnancy palates!

This change affects the following pregnancy safe formulas: Morning Sickness, Immune Boost, Congestion Rescue, Kick-Ass Allergy, Stress Release and Sleepy Nights. This does exclude our postpartum formulas!
