While we love spring and everything that it entails, we don’t love the sneezing, itchy eyes, and dry throats that come along with the season.

If you struggle with seasonal allergies, you’re not alone! Nearly 50 million Americans have symptomatic allergies that present themselves as soon as the pollen count begins to rise.

There are A LOT of options for allergy remedies on the market, but one of our favorite ways to offer support through the allergy season is with herbal teas. Not only do many herbs support a healthy histamine response, but drinking a warm tea is a surefire way to soothe your throat and respiratory system.

Here are some teas we recommend for alleviating your symptoms, and some WishGarden remedies that will pair nicely with each tea.

1. Rooibos tea – best overall seasonal support tea

Rooibos tea is a great overall choice for fighting allergy symptoms.

Rooibos tea is a traditional Southern African drink made from a shrub native to the region. This tea is packed with antioxidants and antihistamine properties that are derived from quercetin, a bioflavonoid. Itchy eyes and runny nose, begone!

Take this tea up a notch by adding 6-8 pumps of our Kick-Ass Allergy formula. Effective support for those suffering through seasonal allergies caused by irritants such as pollen, grasses, and weeds; but also helpful for those affected by animal dander, molds, smoke, and even those with dietary sensitivities. Kick-Ass Allergy is body-friendly, non-stimulating, and non-sedating

Sit back, enjoy your tea, and allow the soothing power of this powerful herbal mix to help you feel your best.

2. Peppermint tea – best for sinus concerns

Peppermint tea is a great choice for those with an affinity for sinus irritation associated with seasonal allergies. Can’t breathe? This one’s for you!

Peppermint modulates the immune system’s response to irritants that provoke the secretion of histamine, the chemical responsible for sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and other uncomfortable symptoms. It will help clear those airways out so you can breathe easier and sniffle-free.

We recommend adding 2-4 droppersful of Kick-Ass Sinus to this tea. Kick-Ass Sinus is formulated to support healthy secretions and immunity, while herbal lymphatics help kick invaders out. With ingredients like Yerba Santa leaf, Sage leaf, Yerba Mansa root, Baptisia root, Elderflower, and more, Kick-Ass Sinus is a great addition to peppermint tea.

3. Lemon Balm Tea – best gentle seasonal support for kids

Lemon balm is part of the mint family, and it has a wonderful (you guessed it!) lemon-y taste. That’s why we recommend lemon balm tea for your little ones who need additional support through allergy season

Lemon balm tea is highly relaxing and soothing to tension in the head and respiratory concerns. A cup of warm lemon balm tea with some honey is a great introduction to herbal teas for kids and is very supportive to your kiddo’s overall histamine response during allergy season

We recommend adding 1-3 droppersful (depending on child’s age) of our Kick-It Allergy for Kids for the best results of this tea. Adult allergy formulas are often too strong for children’s small bodies, so we formulated Kick-It especially for kids using Nettle leaf, Yerba Santa leaf, and Echinacea. This tea and tincture combo is a great way to support your child’s immune, respiratory, and lymphatic systems.

There you have it! Now you’re equipped with the herbal heroes you need to to get you through the allergy season like a pro!
